Let’s Go To Benidorm
For most of us Benidorm is a way of life, some people collect stamps, some people spend their free time train spotting, there are even some people who congregate in car parks on a cold windy night in Stoke for some tyre kicking and partner swapping but if you find yourself toying with the idea of having a holiday in Benidorm here are some reasons to swap the car park in Stoke for the airport car park and begin you’re Benidorm experience.
Don’t believe the hype!
I’ll admit I was one of those people who said I would never come to Benidorm, my friends came twice a year and I always said no, around 8-9 years ago through some very strange circumstances I came for a week and ended up staying for a month, after a week back in the UK I was back on the plane for another 3 weeks in Benidorm, I got the bug, all I knew about Benidorm was what I read in some pretty crappy newspapers but needless to say after many trips on holiday I packed up and moved here, I love the place, the people and everything Benidorm has to offer, Benidorm is such a big place and caters for everyone, the young, old, families, solo travellers, beach lovers and even those looking for a quick weekend away, all I can say is try it, wherever you normally go on holiday that place will still be there next year and the year after so a few days in Benidorm can only be a good thing.
It’s all about the money
With the uncertainty surrounding the Brexit and the Euro not as attractive as a few years ago the one thing that makes Benidorm a great place to holiday is the cost of everything, with having so many hotels, bars and food outlets this keeps prices down, you can still get a pint of beer for a Euro, a fry up for around 3 Euros and a Sunday dinner for around 6 Euros, with so much competition this works in the tourist favour and you will be spoilt for choice for places to eat, sleep and drink.
Let’s go to the beach
It doesn’t get much better than Benidorm for you beach lovers, with 3 beaches, yes 3, you will be spoilt for choice. The main beach Levante is a mecca for the sun worshipper with beach front bars and places to grab a bite to eat, water sports and play areas for the little ones it’s no wonder this is a regular winner of beach awards, CalaMal Pas is the little beach in the cove just by the harbour ( that’s right Benidorm even has a harbour for those who enjoyboat trips ) and last but no way least Poniente which stretches in to La Cala, all 3 of Benidorms beaches are stunning and don’t be surprised when you see large groups turning up doing their daily exercises or the local choir meeting up and dropping a few beats.
The Old Town
I love this part of Benidorm, popping out for some afternoon tapas and a few beverages to wash it down, wandering around the maze of alleyways lost in my own thoughts, sat outside a cafe people watching, going up to the Castell taking in the breathtaking views of Benidorm, the traditional Spanish feel to the place with it’s churches and impressive park at the town hall, and at some point you will stumble upon one of the many fiestas which use the Old Town as their hub of activity it really is a world away from the New Town part of Benidorm and a real feel of Spain.
I could write forever about Benidorm and why you should come here, it’s diversity, awesome weather, low cost flights from most airports, entertainment, cuisine, fiestas, culture, theme parks and beaches are just the tip of the iceberg and as most will agree, once you have been to Benidorm you never stop!!!!
